Amsterdam seems to be the greenest and quietest capital city of Europe, at least in my opinion...

Horse carts in front of the Royal Palace in Dam Square

Amsterdam's windows overlooking its canals

De Waag in Nieuwmarkt used to be the main gate to the city

Withdrawing cash

Damrak, on the way to Centraal Station

Leave your bike here and then try to find it

A red houseboat

Amsterdam canals often freeze up in winter so people can ice skate here

Anne Frank wrote here her memorable diary during WW2

A closed fast food outlet

Amsterdam's tram

During the rain

Reflection in a bike's headlight

Still raining if you look at the surface of the canal

Pigeon-chasing in Dam Square

Tram's track leading to Nieuwe Kerk

This city has no rush hours. Above, the centre of Amsterdam at around 6 pm.

"I AMSTERDAM" sign, in front of the Rijks Museum, is the most frequently climbed structure in the city

Dam Square at dusk - needs cleaning

A bike by the Keizersgracht canal

A proud lion next to the National Monument, Dam Square

Red Light District, Amsterdam

Another day passed. Bloemgracht canal quietly going to sleep.
